Sé Morrison

I am a fourth-year student whose research primarily focuses on cross-cultural contact in the ancient world! Along with my thesis--studying maritime cults in the ancient Mediterranean--I've participated in research projects and labs that cover a wide range of subjects; I've done archaeological field work in China and Romania, assisted in a human ecology and disease lab on campus, helped to digitize and preserve field notes from past excavations in Central America, assisted in curation for the Palmer Museum of Art, and more.

Current Research Project:
Maritime cults (specialized religions practiced by sailors) in ancient Egypt, Tunisia, Greece, and the Levant
Project Description:
One smaller project I'm working on is digitizing old field reports from excavations in Central America, which will be sent to the countries in question as part of a wider repatriation effort in the ANTH department. My main project, however, is my thesis: I study maritime cults (specialized religions practiced by sailors) in ancient Egypt, Tunisia, Greece, and the Levant, using archaeology to study migration and identity across the ancient Mediterranean.
